How to Add Posts for Events & News Items

Posts are different from Pages as they should contain information which is not static.  The post template has two columns (left menu & left widgets) and the main content area.

A summary of all posts sorted by publishing date is contained in the theme News & Events page.

The featured image of the News & Events page is the featured image of the most recent post.

From the top admin menu bar, mouse over  then click on 

The Add New Post page appears.

For a better composing/editing experience, expose more editing tools by hitting the toolbar toggle: 

Styling Considerations

• Keep your post nomenclature in a consistent format.  One possible way is with the date of the event or news item, even though dates will often also appear in the “posted by” taglines.
• You do NOT need to add a top line of text styled “Heading 1” as WordPress will automatically add the post title
• If you have images appropriate to the post, you can include them in the text and/or insert them into the banner as the featured image.
